Taking time off....

Whats going on MMA Fans!! This is going to be the HARDEST blog that I have written EVER! Back in August 2011, I got a GREAT opportunity to be a host of a up-coming show entitled "MMA Mayhem" (As part of the Beer Battered Sports Network) with good friends George Kennebrew (Co-host) and Joel Brock (Producer). We were three young adults trying to make it big in the radio industry and I STRONGLY believe with our different opinions in the world of MMA, the sky had no limit on our success!! We were doing great and starting to get guest to appear on our show (Mostly by phone), but some in the studio as well!! Without getting in the DRAMA off the airwaves, we were thinking differently on the direction of the show!! Joel decided to bring in Brad Storm as an another host/father figure to the all of us!! With me being the selfish person that I was, I took that the worst!! I have should have realize that Joel was just trying to help improve not only the show credability, but as well as bringing back me down to reality a little bit. There was a incident (That I am not going to get into in this blog), that made me lose my on-air spot to Brad! FOr the next few months, I became irrogent, selfish, and as hard it might say jealous!! I worked sooo hard and just because of one little incident, I was out of three friends!! Did my actions take full blame for this? not all, but 80% can!! Having said that, I am closing down this website and there will be no more MMA blogs from me!! As "The Heartbreak Kid" Shawn Michales, I have lose my smile when it comes talk about the world of MMA!! I am still a fan (and will ocntinue to watch fights), but as a blogger or radio personality..I will be no more!! I want to let everyone know that if you want a MMA radio show to listen to, why dont you checkout MMA Mayhem on www.couchfighter.co. Joel Brock is one of the best young producer out there. If he doesnt get a job doing a radio board in Atlanta in 2013, the radio industry doesnt know what they are missing!! We don't see eyes-to-eyes on 80% of the time, he has the "WOW" factor to be very successful! Even though I enjoy all of the guys on MMA Mayhem, I enjoy George the most!! George is what he says he is...."The MMA Encyclopedia". There is no one better!! Sure, he might have his "Co-Co" puffs moments, but who doesnt!! Thanks George for all laughs and slap-stick thoughts we had as been hosting MMA Mayhem together!! Finally Brad Storm. Without me being there, Brad is the "Glue" that holds everything together!! He might not have the outspoken personality like I do (Sorry have to have one A-Hole" Moment..lol), but he is the Season Vet of the group that are teaching Joel and George how to do things the right way!!! Hats off to you Brad!! I want to also thank the fighters, promoters, ring girls, managers, etc that I had the honor of interviewing!! All of yall were great!! Having said that, Thanks again to all and please go check out MMA Mayhem on couchfighter.co!! God Bless Everyone, Kurt

Matt Hughes Retiring (from fighting)...my thoughts!!

What's going on MMA world!! It is The MMA A-Hole back here again for a suprising "third" blog this week!! This blog is going to be alittle more serious, but will show my "A-Hole" personality that everyone loves to hear blog after blog!! Like most of you are now aware of, one of the best welterweight champion of all-time has finally decided to call it a fighting career! UFC President Dana White announced yesterday at the UFC on Fox press conference that Former Matt Hughes was calling it quits (as for as a fighter) He will remain on as the UFC's VP of athletes development. Even though I am happy (not only for the UFC), but to Matt as he moved on with his career outside of the cage! Growing up watching the UFC, there were two fighters that I watched mostly Tito Ortiz and Matt Hughes. I know that you all (who are reading this is thinking..How can you like someone that talks so much crap and someone that doesnt talk alot..right? Well, I do like the trash talker (Ortiz, Rampage, etc), but I also like the guys who go out there regardless of the opponent and fight (Sonnen & Hughes), Unlike any member from Gayhouse that bitch and complain about a minior injury. I don't think anyone out there will disagree with me that Matt Hughes is a top 3 best Welterweight ever in Mixed Martial Arts!! The stats dont lie: - 2x UFC Welterweight Championship - Seven successful title defenses - Most wins in the UFC with 18 - Two separate six-fight win streaks in the UFC - Defeated six former or current UFC champions (GSP, Matt Serra, BJ Penn, Dave Menne, Sean Sherk, and Carlos Newton) - 7 successful welterweight title defenses (tied with GSP) - 12 title fights in the UFC welterweight division - Tied (Tito Ortiz) for third most consecutive title defenses in UFC history (Five) - Second most title fights in UFC history (Twelve) - Second most finishes in UFC title fights (Eight) - Second most fights in UFC history (Twenty-five) - UFC Hall-of-Famer (2010) - 45 Pro wins Now that I got the stats out of the ways. Let me share my top 5 favorite moments in Matt Hughes fighting career: 5) UFC 98 fight vs. Matt Serra (The buildup and hatred for these two fighters was AMAZING!!) 4) UFC 60 fight vs. Royce Gracie (Granted the fight was short, but it was a passing of the torch fight for me) 3) Matt Hughes choking out Frank Trigg at UFC 45 in the first round. (That was when I was like...this guy is going to be someone special) 2) UFC 52 Trigg vs Hughes 2...Trigg was dominating this fight (no thanks to a low- blow by Trigg), but Hughes lift Trigg up after being dominated and carry him to the other side of the cage and slam him now soo hard that I though Trigg was actually "Dead"!! 1) Welterweight Title Bout vs Carlos Newton at UFC 34. I didnt like Carlos Newton back than (I though he was cocky as hell..I know times change..LOL) Newton had him in a triangle choke, but Hughes pick him up and place Newton on the edge of the cage and all of the sudden slam him down so hard that Newton's head bounce off the mat!! Hughes won his first title that night and I couldnt be happier!! I would like to hear everyone best moments of Matt Hughes' fihgting career!! Leave a comment below or send me a email at kurtscourt@gmail.com! All I want to say is Matt, thank you for all what you did iinside the cage!! You are one of the best "True" Warriors out there and good luck in your career opportunity outside of the cage!! A true Hall-of-Famer in my books!! Thanks again!! - The MMA Asshole!!

UFC on Fox 6 Predictions

What't going on MMA Fans! THE ASSHOLE IS BACK for my second blog this week. Bellator 86 last night was a great show!! I went 4-1 (which is good for me in Bellator fights) A special congrats to ATT Gwinnett & Atlanta own Douglas Lima on his second round TKO (Unbelivable kicks to the shin of Michail) Enough about Bellator...This blog is my main card predictions for this Saturday night UFC on Fox 6 event from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois! I love this main card (a mixture of hungry young guys as well as some season vets of the sport) Let's get into it: Featherweight Bout "New Breed" Eric Koch vs. "The Bully Richardo Lamas When I first looked at the matchup I thought..Mis-match (Favor Koch), but after doing some research on Lamas..He is a tough and interested fighter in the featherweight division. Eric Koch has a 13-1 MMA record and is training out of Roufussport. He has a combine record record (in WEC & UFC) of 5-1. He has good striking ability, but his ground game is subpar at best. In his last fight, he defeated "The Sideshow Bob of the UFC" Jonathan Brookins by decision. Richardo Lamas has a MMA record of 12-2 and is fighting out of MMA Masters. He has a wrestling & BJJ background as well as being a Division 3 wrestler in college. He has a 3-1 record in his last 4 fights. In his last fight, he defeated Hatsu Hioki by decision. If this fight stays standing, I will give the edge to Eric, but I think Lamas is too strong and will be able to take Eric down with easy. This fight will not go to a decision (at least I hope not). I have Lamas in the late 2nd round by submission. Lightweight Bout "Showtime Anthony Pettis vs. "Cowboy" Donald Cerrone I am already calling this will be the "fight of the night"!! I am soo exciting to see this fight on free TV. This has a PPV hype behind this fight for personal reasons (if you don't know the backstory...google it) Anthony Pettis comes into this fight with a 15-2 MMA record and is training with Roufussport as well. He has a black belt in Taekwondo and has a 3-1 record in his last four fights. He had a close decision lost to Clay Guida at the Ultimate Fighter Finale 13 (Summer of 2011), but since than he has beating contenders Jeremy Stephens and knockout "Mr.Bonus" Joe Lauzon (at UFC 144) He has also beaten Ben Henderson as well (Yes...Ben Henderson is the 2012 fighter of the year. regardless of what George Kennebrew says...I'm joking man!!) Donald Cerrone has a 19-4 MMA record and is fighting out of Jackson's Submission. He has a kickboxing & BJJ background. He has a 4-1 record in his last 5 fights as well as 10 of his 19 wins have came in the first round. In last fight, he defeated Melvin Guilard by KO at UFC 150. All I got to say is this bout is a toss-up to me!!If the fight goes to the ground, I think Cerrone will take it; however; I think Pettis' striking is much more dominant than Cerrone!! Both of there kickboxing is two of the best in the division (along with Champion Ben Henederson) I am going to have take Pettis here by a decision. If Pettis does win..Pettis vs. Henderson/Gilbert winner...make it happen Dana!! Light Heavyweight Bout Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. Glover Teixeira Before I start previewing this bout, all I can say is I'm a Rampage fan (Always have) How could you not be a Rampage fan? His mouth-dropping wrestling slams in Pride were incrediable! Do I think he is past his prime of being able to fight against these guys? Absolutely!! His last impressive victory came in 2007, when he knockout Chuck Liddell in the first round/ Rampage will go down as being one of the top 5 best Light Heavyweights of all time ( have a better UFC record than Courture, Ortiz, and Liddell) Let's get into the bout! Rampage is coming in with a 32-10 MMA record with a 2-2 record in his last 4 fights. His wrestling and striking is still good, but not as good like in his "prime" days. Glover Teixeria has a 19-2 MMA record and is training at "The Pit". He has a blackbelt in BJJ and 14 of his 19 wins have came in the first round. My common sense pick would tell me to pick Glover for two reasons: younger and has the drive, but I can't go against Rampage! I am going to take Rampage in the late 2nd round by ground & pound. (George Kennebrew...I hope you still have faith in Rampage...because I do) FYI to Rampage, when you win these bout..please retire! You have nothing else to prove in this sport!! You will be an UFC Hall of Famer for sure!! Flyweight Title Bout "Mighty Mouse" Demetrious Johnson vs. "The Magician" John Dodson I am being honest...I am not a big fan of the "Joel Brock Division" that is 125lbs, but this fight is going to be AMAZING!! Mighty Mouse is coming in with a 16-2 MMA record and has a wrestling background. He has a record of 2-1-1 in his last four fights. This is a FUN fact..Johnson hasnt finished a fight since November 11,2010 against Damacio Page at WEC 52. In his last fight, he defeated "Mr Overrated" Joseph Benavidez by spilt decision at UFC 152. "The Magician" John Dodson is a Ultimate Fighter Alumni and is coming into this fight with a 14-5 MMA record. He is training in Mew Mexico at Jackson Submission. He is a well-rounded fighter with good striking ability and a ground game that is getting alot better!! He is on a five fight winning streak. In his last fight, he defeated Jussier Formiga by TKO!! I like both guys fighting abilities and of course nicknames, but I am going to take "Might Mouse" by knockout in the 3rd round to keep his flyweight champion. Those are my picks for this Saturday Night card on Fox! Send me your thoughts at kurtscourt@gmail.com as well as find me on twitter and facebook!! Until the next blog.."Be an asshole at something you know" -THE MMA ASSHOLE!!

Bellator 86 Predictions

What's going on MMA Fans!! The one-and-only "MMA A-Hole" is back for the first of two blogs this week!! Last week, I went 5-2 (Damn the over-the-hill bastard named Ben Rothwell) Anways, I am back to predict more fihgts this week!! Send me your thoughts and predictions at kurtscourt@gmail.com as well as follow me on twitter!! Having said that, let's get into the Bellator 86 predictions for tonight card on Spike TV at 10p.m. eastern! Welterweight Tournament "The Southern Boy" Brent Weedman vs. "The Raging Demon" Marius Zaromskis This will be a great opening bout! Both guys have alot to show and they are ready to battle! Brent Weedman has a MMA record of 20-8 and is currently fighting at Team Haycraft. He has a record of 2-3 in his last five fights. In his last fight, he lost to Rick Hawn by decision. Mr. Zaromskis is a DANGEROUS fighter! With a MMA record of 19-7 and fighting out of AKA with great fighters, the sky is the limit for him. He has a Muay Thai and Karate background and has a record of 5-1 in his last six fights. His last fight was a lost to Andrey Koreshkov by TKO at Bellator 78! I like both of these fighters and this will be a striking bout! I will take Weedman by decision! Welterweight Tournament Ben "Killa-B" Saunders vs. Koffi Adzitso Do I really have to get in full-detail who I am picking in this bout? Not Really!! This is is mis-match waiting to happen! Ben Saunders is one of top 10 favorite welterweights in the world. As a TUF alumni, he has a MMA record of 14-5 and is fighting out of Florida with American Top Team. He has good BJJ and amazing Muau Thai. His has a 3-2 record in his last five fights. In his last fight, he defeated Brian Warren by TKO in 22 seconds at Bellator 72) I am going to Saunders by late first round knockout!! Welterweight Tournament Douglas "The Phenom" Lima vs. Michail Tsarev I know most people in the MMA Georgia community know of Douglas Lima (I am one of them) He is my favorite welterweight as well as (in my opinion) a top 10 fighter in the world (in the welterweight division) Douglas Lima has a 22-5 record and is fighting out of Atlanta, Georgia (ATT of Gwinnett & Atlanta). I know the kind of guys that he has been training with and he is ready to fight! He has a 4-1 record in his last five fights (Only lost was vs. Ben Askren by decision)He was the Belllator Season 5 winner in the Welterweight tournament (So most believe he will win again..including myself), but first he has to get by a Amazing talent fighter in Michail Tsarev. Michail has a MMA record of 24-3 and he is fighting out of HB Ultimate Training Center. In 17 of his 24 wins, they have been finished in the first round (mostly by Submission). In his last fight, he lost to Lyman Good by TKO in the 2nd round!! If this fight stays standing, Lima will take him apart with his underrated striking ability, but if they go to the ground, it could be anyone's game!! Having said that, I am still taking the "ATL" boy here by submission in the second round!! Light Heavyweight Tournament "King Mo" Lawal vs. Przemyslaw Mysiala (see the Ben Saunders vs. Koffi Adzitso predictions) King Mo is too talented to lose this one! He will win this one by ground & pound in early 2nd round! Welterweight Title "The Wet Blanket" Ben Askren vs. Karl "Psyco" Amoussou All I got to say is I enjoy Askren as a fighter, but he lost alot of respect with a nickname like "The Wet Blanket" (I guess he jacked off too much last night) and those self-spoken morons at Roufussport turned him into a pussy!! Anways. Askren has a record of 10-0 and is a secret lover of UFC Jon Fitch (knowing both are wrestlers..I'll give the edge to Askren slightly because he did go to Missouri...maybe not)! Karl Amoussou has a 16-4 MMA record and a black belt in judo. He has a 4-1 record under the Bellator name (3 of those 4 wins came in the first round). In his last fight, he defeated Bryan Baker by submission at Bellator 72! This will be a great fight and a stepping stone for either fight, but I am going to take the underdog here and take Karl by decision!! Those are my predictions for tonights Bellator main card!! Send me your thoughts and predictions and dont forget to find me on twitter and facebook!! I will be doing a UFC on Fox prediction blog tomorrow!! Until than.."Be an asshole about something!!" - The MMA Asshole!!

Top 6 reasons WHY Georgia SOS Brian Kemp hate MMA!!

Welcome MMA Fans!! I know this is a "OLD" story, but I have to get on the website! Think back when you were taking USA government is high school! What was the first thing you learn in that class? Mostly of you would say the U.S. Constitution (Apparently both Brian Kemp & Joel Brock has something in common and dont believe in it) If they did, they would see under Amendment 1 (Free of religion, speech, and the press; rights of assembly and petition). Knowing that I am part of the press, I have the right to say whatever I want to!! Having said that..lets begin! Here are the top 6 reason why Georgia SOS Brian Kemp hate MMA in the state of GA: 6.) It's Dangerous! Last time I checked, Football (Most popular sport in the world) are also dangerous...you moron!! 5.) He doesn't care about the Georgia MMA Community at all!! Tell that to fighters, trainers, managers, and promoters that have family!! With him being a family man himself, I would assume he would understand!! I am a blogger writing about MMA, but these people are 100% into it and you are laughing at the passion they enjoy!! Say something of my passion (Bowling), we will see who is laughing after that! If you dont like MMA, keep it to your self!! I guess you were not raised by a saying "If you cant say something nice, dont say it at all!!) You can say that about me right now, but its different!! 4.) He is too up-tight about making a "Fair" MMA Fight!! Apparently, he has never seen a sporting event and has heard of the term "Underdogs"!! Back at the Winter Olympics in 1980 (in New York), Did anyone believe that the USA Mens Hockey team was going to beat the ALMIGHTY Soviet Union team? maybe only a few! What happen on that day in 1980? "Do you believe in F*cking miracles?" The USA won!! Lets continue with the "Major upsets in sports history"! Back in the late 2000's, a small division 1-AA school (from North Carolina),Appalachian State went into the "BIG HOUSE" in Ann Arbor, Michigan to take on the 7th ranked Michigan Football team! Did anyone outside of Appalacian State's students/Alumni believe that they would beat Michigan (in one of the loudest stadium in college football)? Nope!! What Happen that day? Appalacian State won 34-32! Going back on topic, If a 2-0 welterweight (170lbs...didn't know if Mr.Kemp knew the weight classes in MMA) wanted to test his skills and take on a top-contender...my ideal thing would be...sign the bout!! If the 2-0 guys get destory...it's his only dumbass fault!! I always believe in the underdogs!! 3.) He hates making money for the state of Georgia and help grow the sport of MMA! Before David Oblas' Undisputed Productions started the "Wild Bills Fight Nights", MMA was a "lost-cost" in the state of Georgia! Out of the 52 events (which I have attended about 40 of them), it has produced numberous sell-outs and more excitement in the state of Georgia! I strongly believe with the success of the Wild Bills Fight Nights, the UFC (Ulimate Fighting Championship..if you didnt know) took notice and award UFC 88: Liddell vs Evans PPV to be held in Georgia! That PPV (First one in Georgia) had almost 15,000 people (I was one of them), a total gate of 2.6 million dollars, and a buyrate of over 400,000. I dont know about Mr. Kemp, but I think that is REALLY GOOD for the first PPV ever in Atlanta! UFC 88 did good enough numbers that the UFC decided to come back in 2012 for UFC 145: Jones vs. Evans. It did about the same numbers with an increase in buyrate (700,000). Because of his (Mr.Kemp) self-centered personality, and not appointing someone in charge, the UFC will not be back for at least another 5-6 years. I want to say thank you Mr Kemp (in advance) from all of the MMA Fans in the state of Georgia!! 2) "Real" Fans are making him look Stupid (I guess that University of Georgia degree never helped!) I am not going to mention any names on here, but alot of MMA Fantics, fighters, trainers, promoters, and some media people (not all) are making this guy look like a "Midget wrestler"! We all know, his knowledge of MMA is like "a horse on crack", but we are not holding that agianst him..are we?? 1.) HE HAS NEVER BEEN TO A FIGHT!! He is bashing and trying to illegalize a sport that he has NEVER seen in person!! I know some of you may know, but Mr. Oblas offer tickets to him for the WBFN 51 (Toys for Tots Event) and what happen? He declined!! He didnt have enough "Balls" and showed up and at least give a gift to the needy kids!! I am 100% sure that he will not even appear at the Bellator fights on Febuary 7th!! I can say this loudly and proudly, my 4 month old nephew knows more MMA than Mr. Kemp does (He has already watch couple UFC fights with me as well) I think the REAL MMA fans need to pitch in and get several books & DVDs (including MMA for Dummies) and send it to him!! Maybe with some knowledgeable books, he might know something about the sport of MMA!! Thank you for reading this!! Any questions or comments, send them to Kurtscourt@gmail.com!! Thanks again for all of the support and remember..."Be an Asshole about something!!" - The MMA Asshole

Main Card Predictions: Bellator 85/UFC on FX 7

Welcome back MMA fans, I thought I might go ahead and write two blogs today and get it done!! We have a great weekend of not only the NFL playoffs...GO Pats & Falcons, but a good weekend of MMA Action. We have the long-awaited debut of Bellator MMA on Spike TV tomorrow night (10 p.m. eastern...right after a Triple H/Stephanie McMahon wannabe wedding on Impact Wrestling with Bubba-Ray and Brooke Hogan..gees that will put alot of asses in the seats...NOT!) Anyways..Here are my predictions for the main card of Bellator 85: Light Heavyweight Tournament - Opening Round Renato Sobral vs. Mikhail Zayats I will be personally honest here to everyone...I could really care less who wins this fight!! There is NO way in Hell that either of of these fights will see the finals anyways. If I had to go with one, I will take Mikhail by a decision. Featherweight Title Bout Pat "Paddy Mike" Curran vs. Patricio "The Pitbull" Freire This is a fight that I have been waiting to see for a LONG time! Two AMAZING fighters in the featherweight division and it blows my mind...Why in the hell are these two fighters not in the UFC!! Mr. White, GET off your ass and sign these guys!! Pat Curran has a 17-4 MMA record and is fighting out of his Team Curran Gym in Chicago (along with borther Jeff and Social-Media darling Felice "Lil Bulldog" Herrig) He has won his last four fights is very well-rounded! Mr. Patricio Freire is a DANGEROUS fighter as well! He has a 17-1 MMA record and fight out of the all "In-famous" secret lesbo gym entitled "Team Gayhouse". He has a black-belt in BJJ and is on a 3 fight winning streak!! With "Strong" dislike to Gayhouse aside, I think will be the fight of the Night! I usually like Black Belt in BJJ and I like Freire (alot more than some) in his camp, but I am going to have to go Team Curran (Most underrated camp out there..shout out to you all) and I will take Pat Curran by Decision to retain the belt and hopyfully the UFC will be calling sometime sooner than later!! Lightweight Title Bout Michael Chandler vs. Rick Hawn This will be a match (If you don't like wrestling or judo...you shouldnt watch!) This will be a on-the-mat kind of fight!! Michael Chandler (Champion) has a undefeated 10-0 MMA record and is fighting out of Alliance MMA! He is a Division 1 wrestler (Missouri) and he finished 6 out of his 10 fights in the first round. His biggest victory came on November 19,2011 when he submitted Eddie Alvarez (by Rear Neck Choke). His opponent Rick Hawn is no easy cookie as well!! He was the Bellator Season 6 lightweight tournament winner. He has a 14-1 MMA record. He is currently training with Team Renzo Gracie! He is a black belt in Judo and bring his BJJ up to par rapidly (The Gracies did invent BJJ...right?) He is on a three fight winning streak as well! I like both guys! Both of them have amazing upside, but I think the BJJ game of Chandler is slightly stronger. I am going to take Chandler in the 2nd round by submission (You pick the submission) That was my Bellator Preview for tomorrow night on Spike TC (10pm eastern) Lets now get into my main card predictions for UFC on FX 7!! This card will be live from Brazil this saturday night at 9pm eastern on FX (The prelims start at 6pm eastern...if you care...which I don't) Here are my predictions for the main card for the UFC on FX 7 event: Thiago Tavares vs. Khabib Numagomedov I think this will be a good opening match to get the Brazil fans excited about the card. Thiago has a MMA record of 17-4 and is fighting with Brazilian Top Team. He is a well-rounded fighter and has a 4-1-1 record in his last six fights. His last fight was a decision victory against Sam Stout at UFC 142! Numagomedov is a very talented fighter with awesome upsided! His has a undefeated MMA record of 18-0 and is currently training at AKA!! 5 of his 18 fights have gone to a decision, so he finish fights (10 of 18 fights have been finished in the first round) His last fight was a decision win against Glesion Tibau at UFC 148. This is a toss-up match for me, but I am going with the AKA prospect Nuagomedov in the 3rd round by knockout! Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Ben Rothwell THIS FIGHT SHOULD BE ON THE UNDERCARD!!! First off, Gabriel "I'm too old and rusty" Gonzaga. He has a 13-6 MMA record and is fighting for Team Link (which is a sister Gym of Team Gayhouse" He has a black belt in BJJ and hasa 3-3 record in his last six fights! His last BIG win was all the way back in 2007 against Mirko Crocop. When is this one-time wonder going to call it quits...hopefully after this fight!! His opponent is Ben Rothwell. I have never been a big Ben Rothwell fan, but I hope he knock the F*ck out of this guy to send him back to Brazil! Rothwell has a 32-8 MMA record and is currently training at his own gym, Rothwell MMA! He has horrible submission skills, but AmAzInG knockout power! He has a record of 3-2 in his last five fights! He last fight was at UFC 145 (Here in Atlanta) when he knockout Brendan Schuab!! FYI...Schuab man-handled Gonzaga at UFC 121) I don't think it's a suprise, but I am taking Rothewll by knockout in the first round!! C.B. Dollaway vs. Daniel Sarafian "The Ultimate Fighter" Fight of the night! These two middleweights were former members of the hit reality show (different seasons). C.B. Dollaway has a MMA record of 12-4 and is training at Power MMA (What kind of sorry name is that?) He is a former Division 1 wrestler at Arizona State. He has a 2-2 record in his last four fights. Mr. Daniel Sarafian. Daniel is making his long-awaiting debut in the UFC. He has a MMA record of 7-2 and is currently training at American Top Team in Florida.Something I like (Along with Dana White) is that Daniel finish fights (only 1 of his fights have gone to decision). He is AMAZING on the ground as well (6 submission wins). I respect Daniel's background, but I am going to take C.B by submission in the middle of the 2nd round! MAIN EVENT Michael Bisping vs. Vitor Belfort By the end of 2013, We will be talking about this fight as a potential Fight of the Year contender. I am sooo exciting to see this fight and I know it will deliever as well! For me, Its like seeing The Past vs. The Future!! Let's get into this match! Michael Bisping has a MMA record of 23-4! He is a great striker as well as a wrestler, but he needs to start finshing fights. Everyone been asking (since the Mayhem Miller fight) WHY hasnt Michael got a title shot opportunity? Well for started...because the Silva vs. Sonnen II bout was already booked at that time...you morons!! Secondly, do you actuallt think Mayhem was so impressive that it deserve a title shot? Absolutely not! With Bisping beating Brian Stann at UFC 152, I though he deserved, but Dana White thinks otherwise. He has a 5-1 record in his 6 fights as well! His Opponent. Vitor Belfort (My 2nd favorite fighter of all-time behind Tito Ortiz) has a MMA record of 21-10 and is currently training with the Blackzilians! He has a black belt in BJJ and Judo! He has a 2-2 record in his last four fights (two loses came by Anderson Silva & Jon Jones) He is getting older and does have ten loses, but look at nine of those loses (Jones, Silva, Henderson, two times vs Overeem, two times against Courture, Liddell, Ortiz) When his fighting days are done, he will go down as been one of the top 10 best fighters of all-time!! (If you disagree...you are more of a moron than I thought) I like the out-spoken and talent level of Bisping, but I been a Vitor fan for as long as I can remember!! Vitor is not a "young stud" and I think its time to past the torch to another soon-to-be-champion. With that said..I am taking Michael Bisping in middle of the third round by Knockout!! Those are my predictions for the Bellator 85 card (Tomorrow night) and the UFC on FX 7 card (this saturday night) Do you think you can out-due my picks..send me an email at kurtscourt@gmail.com with your picks!! If you beat me, I will give you a shout out to you on my next MMA blog!! Until than, "Be an Asshole about something" - THE MMA Asshole!!

StrikeForce Fighters to UFC...My thoughts!

Whats going on MMA Fans! Its time for 1 of 2 blogs that I will be doing this week by your truely..."The MMA-Asshole" Kurt Johnson!! I watched the Strikeforce Finale PPV last night (Thank god..we doing have to see Scott Coker's Fat ass anymore..thinking he knows MMA.(Hell him and Joel Brock can have something in common), but anyways moving on!! The Strikeforce Card on a scale 1-10 was a 6 (at best). Couple good fights (including that Ryan Courture vs KJ Noons fight...That was AWESOME!!) I had a record of 7-2 (missing the main-event and the opening bout of the main card) I will say it right now, I will NEVER root for Nate Mardquart ever again!!! Enough of the PPV Card. Lets move on to the blog! After Saturday's PPV, the UFC was going to take several fighters and sign them to fight in the UFC!! Last night, that list was released on "UFC Tonight"! Out of the 20 fighters that are now a part of the UFC, I agree with about 70% of them! I have rated all of them base on record, opponents, what they will bring to the UFC, and where they will stand in their division. Let get into the top tiers guys. I dont think I have to wrote much about this first groups of guys called "Common Sense" (Rated 100-90). These guys include: Daniel Cormier (98..he got his wish matchup against Frank Mir in April), Gilbert Melendez (96..he will be fighting for the Lightweight Title vs. Ben Henderson at that same card in April), Luke Rockhold (94), Ronaldo Souza (93), Gegard Mousasi (92), and Lorenz Larkin (90). I know alot of people would put Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Tarec Saffiendine in this group as well, but I will explain that later!! The Second group is entitled "Good Addition & Talented" (Rated 89-80). These fighters are Tim Kennedy (87), Josh Thomson (84), Roger Gracie (82), and Ryan Couture (80). All I say is Roger Gracie and Ryan Couture speak for themselves. MMA is in their blood as well as Ryan and Dad (UFC Hall of Famer, Randy Couture)is the first father-son combination in UFC history. The Third group is entitled "Need to Impress (Rated 79-70) I know most of you reading this will have "Kind" words to tell me about this group (I can smell it!) This group includes: Tarec Saffiendine (79), Nate Marquart (77), Roger Bowling (75), Pat Healy (74), and KJ Noons (71). First name on the list is...Tarec Saffiendine!! I know he is a champion and with all due respect to him...HE IS A PAPER-CHAMPION!! Let me educate yall..Tyrone "T-Wood" Woodley beat Tarec to get a shot at the now-than vacent Welterweight Title against Nate Marquart. Nate handled Woodley to win the belt (Still with me??) Now, Tarec get a title after beating the likes of Scott Smith (past his prime), Tyler Stinson (NEXT), and went to a decision with a guy in Roger Bowling that he should have destroyed!! My FIRST BOLD STATEMENT on my BLOG right here...TAREC IS OVER-HYPE!! There are a ton of guys in the welterwight division that will take him to school. Tarec is going have to prove something for me to start becoming a believer. Until that happen, I think his is OV-ER-RAT-ED!! The Final group is entitled "Pinkslip NOW" (rated 69 and below). These fighters include: Jason High (69), Adriano Martins (65), Gian Villante (64), Bobby Voelker (62), and Kurt Holobaugh (60). I know these fighters are part of the UFC now, but I dont see any of them seeing a UFC ring in 2014!! My suggestion to these guys right now is have Legacy FC and World Series of Fighting on speed-dial because you will need there number!! If these fighters on this list is reading this and need contact information, I might have contacts for you!! Let me know what you think MMA fans!! I will be back later this week (Maybe tomorrow) with my main-card predictions on Bellator 85 and UFC on FX 7. Its going to be a great month of MMA action for all MMA fans!! Goodbye Strikeforce...It's about Damn time!!

Whats going on MMA Fans! This is "The MMA Asshole" Kurt Johnson. I have came to conclusion that I will 'try" and do at least two (2) MMA -related blogs per week to give my opinions on everything in the world of mixed martial arts!! I am still planning on having my sports-related radio show sometime, but it has been pushed back some. I will keep everyone updated on that!! Don't forget to follow me on facebook as well as twitter (Kurt's court). Now let get into this card! Before I run down the card, I am SO thankful (like most "smart" MMA fans that Strikeforce is leaving for good!! Whereas, CEO Scott Coker has provide some exciting fights for us, he has done alot more "WTF" matches!! He gamble on the "Almighty" Fedor and failed! (BTW. Fedor, how is the government in Russia doing for you these days?) Lets start with the Prelims fights: Pat Healy defeat Kurt Holobaugh (Common sense here) Roger Gracie defeat Anthony Smith (Better fight, but still common sense) Tim Kennedy defeat Trevor Smith (Why is a over-achiever like Kennedy on the Prelims?) Ryan Couture upset KJ Noons (Noons hasn't look impressive as of late) Now onto the main card: Catchweight Bout (194 lbs.) Ed "Short-Fuse: Herman vs. Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza Ed Herman comes into this fight as a late replacement for Lornez Larkin in this bout. Ed is coming in with a 20-8 record and fighting out of Team Quest. He has a black belt in BJJ and has very UN-DER-RATED knockout power as well! He has a record of 3-1-1 in his last five fights. Ronaldo Souza comes into this fight with a 16-3 record and is a member of the all in-famous 'Team Gayhouse" (run by Mr. Ed Bored-us) He has a 6-1 record in his last seven fights as well having a blackbelt in Judo & BJJ!! If Herman can keep this on the feet, than he will win this fight! Souza is much bigger and stronger than Herman is, but if this fight goes to the ground, than Herman is in trouble!! I am going to take the minior upset here and take Herman by Knockout in the 3rd round and this will also be fight of the night!! Lightweight Bout "The Dreamcatcher" Gegard Mousasi vs. Mike Kyle This should be a solid fight as well!! Gegard is coming with a 32-3 record. He has a 4-0-1 record in his last five fights (Draw against "The Dean of Mean"....YEA RIGHT...Keith Jardine in 2011) He is a well-rounded fighter with a great boxing background!! Mike Kyle has a MMA record of 19-8. He is fighting out of AKA. In his last four fights, he has a record of 2-1-1 (No thanks for Rafeal "Dumbass" Cavalcante for testing positive for a ban substance) I have grown to like Gegard Mousasi alot (Since MMA Mayhem's George Kennebrew introduce me to his ability). I am going to take Gegard my knockout in the 2nd round! Heavyweight Bout Josh Barnett vs. some Austria Guy Do I really have to preview this fight?? Granted, I am not the biggest Josh Barnett fan at all, but serious!! This is one of "WTF" fight that Scott Coker just put together at the last second!! I want to call this a No-Contest knowing Barnett's history of ban substances in his body, but I will give him this win...I guess!! Moving on!! Heavyweight Bout "The Black Fedor..(WAY BETTER THAN FEDOR) Daniel Cormier vs. "Solider" Dion Staring Daniel Cormier is one of the fighters that I have been watching since he debut as part of the Strikeforce:Challengers cards (alone with Tyrone Woodley) in the fall of 2009. Daniel Cormier has an undefeated record of 10-0 and fight out of AKA. He is a former Division 1 wrestler out of Oklahoma State. He has amzing stregnth and a wrestling background that can go pound-for-pound against anyone in the heavyweight divison. He has beaten 6 of his first 10 opponents in the 1st round. His last three fights were against over-the-hill Jeff Monsoon and Mr. under-achiever "Big Stiff" Silva! He had a great fight against Josh Barnett as well! Dion has a 28-7 and fights out of the most "Underrated" gym in MMA..The Blackzillians! He has won the last six fights, but against who??? absolutely no one (5 of them in the first round) He has amazing well-rounded skills and has a bright future, but this fights belong to Cormier! After this win, Cormier will go to the UFC, beat someone ass (like Roy Nelson) and get his title shot aginst the winner of Cain vs. Alistar!! Main Event of the Night Welterweight Title Bout Nate "The Great" Marquart vs. Tarec "Sponge" Saffiendine This has to be one of the WORST main event ever in Strikeforce history!! Nate Marquart has a MMA record of 32-10 and is fighting out of Jackson Submission Fighting (in New Mexico) He has a blackbelt in EVERYTHING!! (When I sat everything..I mean it) Just listen to to last 4 loses (Chael Sonnen, Yushin Okami, Thales Leites(when he was good), and Anderson Silva) There is NO shame in any of those fights! He did have to fight off some demons, but he is back and better than ever!! I have never been much of a Marquart fan, but the way he fought against top-ranked Tyrone "T-Wood" Woodley and knocked him out, that was UNBELIEVABLE!! Let's move on to Tarec! He has a 13-3 record and fighting out of Team Quest. His Biggest win to date (and I am shame to say it), but it was against Scott "Hand of Steel" Smith...Really? What an impressive win...NOT!! Tarec can't finish fights (last four have gone to decision) and he has NO knockout power what-so-ever!! I am taking Nate here by submission in the late 2nd Round. He will move on to the UFC and will be a force in the STACKED welterweight division! Those are my predictions for this Saturday Night Strikeforce Finale Card on showtime starting at 9pm eastern)!! Send me your thoughts and comments at kurtscourt@gmail.com or write a comment below!! BTW...One last thing...RIP Strikeforce (2006-2013) Thanks for the memories...NOT!! Until the Next MMA Blog!!
